Plant guide: quick answer to your plant question

Is this plant suitable for your pet? Can it survive the winter outside? How large should the pot be, and how many plants do you need for your hedge? And what needs to be done in the garden this month? With our plant guide you will find the answer in no time. Search for your plant, enter a few measurements or choose a month and see immediately what you can do. This way you buy a plant that suits you and prevent it from having difficulties later.

Which tool is right for your question?

Before you choose a plant

Do you have a cat or dog? Then first check if a plant is toxic to your pet. Are you looking for an outdoor plant? Then you can see in the hardiness guide whether it can survive the winter, in the ground and in a pot.

Before you start planting

Know exactly what you need before you order. Calculate the pot size and potting soil for your plant, or calculate how many hedge plants you need per metre. Do you want to harvest your own fruit and herbs? The vegetable garden guide shows what suits your sun and space.

Frequently asked questions about plant guide

Does the plant guide cost anything?

No, all tools are free. You don't need an account and don't have to order anything to use them.

Where does the data come from?

We use public sources where possible, such as the British Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) for hardiness and planting distances and the ASPCA for toxicity. For each tool you can see which source has been used.

Can I blindly trust the result?

See the results as a guideline. Every location, every breed and every winter is different. Is it about the health of your pet? Then always contact your veterinarian. You cannot derive any rights from the results.
